The Quincy Band Boosters have created a scholarship fund to help parents of motivated band students pay for the cost of private music lessons.
The one-on-one music learning experience of private lessons is the most effective way to build musical skill and confidence in young students.
The scholarship covers up to $200 toward a term of at least ten lessons, with the remaining balance of the lesson cost to be paid by the student's parent/guardian.
For the 2020/2021 school year, scholarships for woodwind and brass players apply to online lessons only.
Percussion students are also strongly encouraged to have online lessons but for in-person percussion lessons, both teacher and student must be in a well-ventilated location, wear masks continually, and remain 6 feet from each other, following all mandated COVID guidelines.
