Q.B.B. 2026 Spring/Summer Music Camp/Program Scholarship and 2026 Spring/Summer Private Lesson Scholarship Application
Dear Band Parents and Students,
The Quincy Band Boosters are offering scholarships of up to $300 to help Quincy Public Schools band students, currently in grades 8 through 11, to attend an accredited day and/or overnight summer music camps/programs. We encourage families to check out the many summer band camps/programs offered and you can visit our webpage for some suggested options.
Private lesson scholarships will also be awarded for the spring/summer of 2026. The scholarship covers up to $150 toward a term of at least ten lessons with a private teacher (or for a pre-approved lesson program at an accredited institution) with the remaining balance of the lesson costs to be paid by the student's parent/guardian. Please note: the spring/summer scholarships for private lessons will have a different time frame than the camp scholarships. These lessons can be started in May/June and continued into the summer months.
Scholarships for 'specialty instruments' may be slightly higher (up to $250) but must be recommended and approved by your student's band teacher/director to the QBB.
Please note: Qualified summer music programs must include your student playing a "band" program instrument that includes wind instruments and/or percussion.
A Quincy Band Boosters Summer Camp Scholarship this year will cover up to $300 per summer band camp/program your child chooses (one scholarship per child).
A Quincy Band Boosters Summer Private Lesson Scholarship will cover amounts starting at $150. Please note that specialty instruments do cover a higher scholarship amount due to the higher price of lessons.
Please note the following:
• QBB Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis and as funds are available.• Only one scholarship will be awarded per student.
• When registering, please use your child's grade for the upcoming school year (2026-2027). Sorry, graduating seniors are not eligible to apply.
• All QBB Scholarship applications must be received by May 11, 2026
• This online application form must be completed and signed by both the student and parent for consideration.
• For families receiving a scholarship, the QBB asks that in return, the parents help support the program by joining us at QBB meetings, volunteering at a QBB events, and/or by helping the program in some way. High school students may fulfill this requirement instead of parents if they choose.•You must contact the scholarship chair within 3 weeks of receiving your scholarship letter to let them know what you have done to secure your spot in a summer program or set up your private lessons. If you do not, you will potentially forfeit your scholarship.• Any questions? Please email us at: qbcgboostersscholarships@gmail.com
IMPORTANT NOTE for Camp Registration: Register your child at the camp by registering with the application fee and don’t pay all tuition. In addition, please let the camp know that you will be applying for the QBB scholarship. This will allow the QBB to pay your child's scholarship directly to the camp. The camp will know to hold your child's spot and will bill you directly for the remaining balance.
Please email qbcgboostersscholarships@gmail.com when you’ve applied.
QBB Chair: Ann Ross (Co-President); Merideth Earnest(Co-President); Laurie Giza (Secretary); Kathleen Sharkey (Scholarship Chair); Nicole Guttenberg (QBB Treasurer); Joy Lewis (Colorguard Chair); Lori Hagborg (QBB Founder and Past President)
